About exhibition
The artwork in this exhibition is inspired by the Water element as a metaphor of concepts such as the passage of time and mutability of thoughts, feelings and memories. The paintings seek to transmit a sense of movement and transparency in which the process is very important since it is through interconnecting layers of colours with writing that images of atmospheric and contemplative features are created.
Luciana Rosado's drawing is exhibited alongside her painting, for the first time, and is part of a body of work that focuses on self-portraiture as the main subject and that assumes a more immediate and spontaneous approach to artistic creation.
Luciana Rosado holds a Degree in Painting-Fine Arts, University of Lisbon and moved to live and work in the UK in 2010. She has participated in solo and group shows in Lisbon, Portugal, since 2000 and, more recently, in Cambridge, UK.
