  • About Rachel Nicholson

Rachel Nicholson, daughter of Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, is a painter of still lifes and landscapes, and sometimes a combination of the two. Although having painted many views of St. Ives and West Penwith she lives in London. The special light and beauty of the landscape has drawn her back to the are where she spent much of her childhood. She regards her still lifes as equally important, and part of the "Nicholson tradition". In all her work a sense of placement and relationship of objects one to another is of prime importance, as well as conveying a feeling of peace.
