About Linda Karshan
Linda Karshan is an American artist who has been based in London since 1969. Her work is concerned with drawing. Minimal in its means, it combines a set, rhythmic procedure with an entirely intuitive engagement with the drawing as it evolves. In recent summers, spent in America, she has worked with a master printmaker on a series of etchings.

As in many of her drawings there is a tension between our expectation of a regular grid and the fine, hair-like lines which build in intensity as lines, more or less, overlie and entwine with each other, especially towards the centre. The final impression seems to mirror the intensity of the body which made it. (Michael Harrison, 2003, Marks and Moves, Kettle's Yard)
