About Elizabeth Vellacott
Donated by Duncan Robinson in memory of his mother, Ann Robinson (1902-97) 1998. The views from her house in Hemingford Grey, near Cambridge, provided Elisabeth Vellacott with some of her favourite subjects. She painted and drew the pear and apple tree remaining from an old orchard throughout the seasons for many years. These drawings were always done on the spot, giving them a fine delicacy and a great sensibility to the rhythm and flow of nature.
