About Anne Forte
The artist writes:
'I work in the disciplines of painting and printmaking. I do not assign a special status to either within my practice. My prints are not secondary to my unique works (many are in fact unique works). Whilst deliberately working without the limitations of a signature style, my work is bound together by an interest in colour and the human form.
Many of my prints and paintings feature a solitary person set against a background which can be either very specific e.g. a landscape, or a flat expanse of colour, I eschew a narrative framework, and although my work is figurative, it is not attempting portraiture. My main concern is to create some kind of tension within the picture.'
