About Gail Altschuler
Gail Altschuler's compositions sometimes refer to landscapes and cityscapes. She finds her inspiration, however, in "music, woven fabrics from a variety of cultures, other artists' work and observation from nature". She continues: "I am interested in exploring the power of colour on the spectator. The intense colours I use are woven together to create moods and atmospheres that relate to my memories and experiences of Africa, Europe and the United Kingdom. I have been using the theme of the 'Weave' for a number of years, as a symbol of order, harmony and integration. The 'Weave' also relates to the artistic preoccupations of women throughout the ages."
Gail Altschuler held an exhibition of her work in New Hall in 1999.
