About Stanislawa de Karlowska
Stanislawa de Karlowska studied in Warsaw, Cracow and Paris, before settling in London when she married the Camden Town painter, Robert Bevan, in 1897. Like the Camden Town artists, her main subject was views of north London, although she continued to paint Polish landscapes. Her work shows a strong sense of pattern and feel for colour.
