Creative Connections: Portraits of Women Scientists and Artists

September 9, 2019 - February 29, 2020

Anne-Katrin Purkiss has taken photographs of scientists and artists for over thirty years. Her archive includes portraits of many women artists whose works are represented in the New Hall Art Collection. For this project, we have asked women scientists whose portraits have been taken by Purkiss, to nominate an artwork from our collection and explain why it appeals to them. The exhibition will be a display of portraits of scientists and artists and work from our collection. The aim is to highlight the interconnectedness between arts and sciences and the creativity that drives both practices.
